A few months ago I worked with a young man who had been experiencing gum pain for years, and could not get answers as to what was happening.  He had sought help from different dentists, as well as other health practitioners, but nobody figured out what was going on.
Via nutritional analysis, I found that it wasn’t exactly his gum, it was his lymphatic (immune) system that was not quite draining well in that area.  Excess glyphosate (a.k.a. Monsanto’s Round up) that was not getting filtered out of his body.  For some reason, it was backing up in the gum area.  Luckily, it was an easy fix with a few supplements that target getting glyphosate out of the lymphatic system.
Here are some general nutritional tips to maintain healthy gums:
Key Nutrients for Gum Health:
  1. Vitamin C: Crucial for collagen production and tissue repair, vitamin C helps maintain the structure and strength of gums. Deficiency can lead to gum disease (scurvy).
  2. Vitamin D: Supports immune function and helps in the absorption of calcium, both vital for gum health and protecting against gum infections.
  3. Calcium: Strengthens teeth and bones, including the jawbone that supports the gums. Adequate calcium levels can reduce the risk of gum recession.
  4. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10): A powerful antioxidant that can promote gum tissue repair and reduce inflammation, especially for those with periodontal disease.
  5. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Found in fish oil, omega-3s help reduce gum inflammation and can support the healing of gum tissues.
  6. Zinc: Zinc has anti-inflammatory properties and supports immune function, helping to protect gums from infections.
  7. Folic Acid (Vitamin B9): Important for cell growth and repair, folic acid can promote healthy gum tissue regeneration and may help prevent gum disease.
Supplements that Help:
  • Probiotics: Oral probiotics can help balance the bacteria in the mouth, potentially reducing harmful bacteria that can lead to gum disease.
  • Green Tea Extract: Contains catechins, antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation and protect gums from bacterial infection.
  • Vitamin C and Vitamin D Supplements: If you’re not getting enough through diet, supplements can help prevent gum issues linked to deficiencies.
  • Calcium and Magnesium: Supplements that balance these minerals are important for overall bone and gum health.
For optimal gum health, it’s essential to combine a balanced diet rich in these nutrients with good oral hygiene practices, like regular brushing and flossing.
