Learn How to Truly Help Someone with a Neurodegenerative Disease
Most of us have probably seen- or heard of – the trendy “ice-bucket challenge.” It’s raised over 100 million dollars for the ALS Association (ALSA) since it started trending on social media months ago. ALS is an acronym for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects motor neurons in the brain and the spinal cord, and leads to loss of muscle control and eventually death. On the surface, the ALSA appears to be a commendable group supporting a good cause, however, this organization, like most medical foundations that represent “incurable diseases”, does very little to truly help people with ALS. In fact, it serves to obscure information that could ultimately support ALS patients in getting better.
The ALSA firmly states that ALS is a disease with “no known cause and no known cure”. One has to stop and think, “Do people’s nervous systems just stop working out of the blue?” There actually have been several studies that have found links between ALS and pesticides, ALS and lead, and ALS and statin drugs. There are numerous causes of ALS, all of them environmental toxins that are attacking our nervous system. The ALSA brushes these aside by claiming no causative proof has ever been found with such toxins. That said, a potential cure can only be found if it addresses the underlying causes, otherwise, we’re just pouring money into medical research for drugs that slow symptoms, not generate a cure
Let’s take a look at the ALSA’s dietary recommendations for those with the condition. These include bread, cereal, and milk products. They encourage the use of condiments like margarine and chocolate syrup to maintain weight. All of these foods are part of the problem, not the cure. Holisitic healers have been warning against consuming these for years, and even mainstream medicine is coming to realize the extreme inflammatory nature of most of these foods. Under the “foods to avoid” category however, ALSA makes no mention of avoiding processed foods like soda and junk snacks that have neurotoxins such as aspartame, msg, and most other food additives or preservatives. There is also no mention of the inflammatory nature of GMO foods. These are the foods, that a person with ALS needs to avoid at all costs, but one would never know this from reading the ALSA’s guidelines. How could such a credible, well-funded organization fail to inform patients of this scientific and well-documented dietary information? Especially information that could drastically reduce their symptoms?
Unfortunately the ALS Association is simply the reflection of the attitudes of most medical associations. Let’s take for example, The National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society who repeatedly deny any correlation between dental amalgams and MS. Yet, this has been proven to be one of the biggest causes of MS. Or The Parkinson’s National Foundation, these folks mention nothing about pesticides or other toxins in their public information, and yet studies show that these are quite linked to Parkinson’s. And at the end of the day, none of these organizations really educate people on dangerous food additives that can worsen these conditions.
Perhaps the most damaging aspect of these associations is that they string people along on false hopes for a cure that may one day come, somewhere later down the line, that is, if you donate generously. They generate hype around their cause while telling us that the most that can be done now is to start on a pharmaceutical drug that slows the progression of the disease, but also create negative side effects. Pharmaceutical drugs are most likely never going to cure these diseases, because because that’s simply not what they are designed to do.
Invaluable information about other options such as body detoxification, and nutritional support is either suppressed or dismissed by the medical community and these medical associations. Ironically, it’s these approaches that I’ve used in my own practice where seen that these approaches offer the most healing. We have been brainwashed into thinking these neurological disorders are death sentences with no cures and no way to curb or stem the tide of their wrath with natural –body positive – approaches. This does not have to be the case. Nutritional Analysis offers us a way to examine how the body and identify many of the underlying causes of these conditions. It also can serve as a guide to what type of nutritional or herbal support is needed to handle them. This type of approach is not quick – it’s a long-term effective solution to sustained health. I will work with you to address the underlying chemicals and heavy medals assaulting the body. One can see and feel the profound effect on the body’s ability to recover by removing these poisons.
So if you’re interested in truly helping someone with ALS or any other neurodegenerative disorder, tell them to try Nutritional Analysis. You have the potential to make a difference in a person’s life.
