“Srinika has helped me with painful cluster headaches that felt like an ice pick sensation. I’ve gone to urgent care before and the best they were able to do was give me pain meds that barely worked and have me wait it out without any understanding of the underlying condition. But Srinika’s prescriptions have an immediate impact and clearly has worked to improve and resolve the issue. She also provides insight as to the actual cause.” – Yelp review.

Less than 1% of the population suffer from cluster headaches, but those who do suffer from them suffer greatly. Cluster headaches are a category of headaches that occur in frequent, patterned attacks (such as a 1/2 hr in duration, multiple times a day) and may last from weeks to months. They usually feel like stabbing sensations on the side of the head.

Conventional allopathic treatments are waiting them out (which could be weeks or even months), medications such as verapamil (which can create nausea, fatigue and irregular heartbeat), steroids (which suppress the immune system), or sumatriptan injections (which can create taste disturbance and injection site reactions). What are other ways of addressing cluster headaches that don’t have these downsides, and actually help prevent them from reccuring down the line? Let me outline a few, and highlight what I have found to be most effective.

1.Nutritional Analysis. I have had the most success with this method in ending cluster headaches quickly. It enables me to identify the organ that is most imbalanced (and with cluster headaches it is usually the liver that is the issue – as the liver controls blood vessels, and how much oxygen can get to head), identify the stressor creating the imbalance (usually a trapped heavy metal or chemical, and secondary to that – a food trigger), and then identify what will clear the problem (often a few simple detox supplements and avoidance of a food)

I use Nutritional Analysis to address the current cluster headache itself, as well as address any patterns of getting cluster headaches in general. Usually, it is a specific pathway in the liver that needs to be fully cleared to avoid future headaches, and remove the pattern of developing them.

2. Oxygen Therapy. Very helpful symptomatically to stop cluster headaches. Having a small oxygen canister (you can get one with the necessary tubes, etc. from a medical supply store) is very handy, as increased oxygen to the body tends to dissipate these headaches fast)

3. Acupuncture. Needles placed in specific pressure points can help reduce symptoms by relaxing the nervous system and running energy through the liver and head.

4. Chiropractic care. Adjustments, especially in the upper back, neck and occiput allows for better nerve and blood flow through the body. Cluster headaches are usually a case of severe stagnancy, in the blood vessels, and in the organ that controls the blood vessels, which is the liver.

Cluster headaches are no fun, and can become a chronic issue if not dealt with in a throrough manner. Nutritional Analysis can do so much to correct this problem, and prevent reccurance.
