Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are about the width of a hair, making the insertion light and usually painless. If there is any discomfort, it dissipates in the first few seconds after they are inserted. Most people feel absolutely nothing upon insertion besides a slight tingling sensation.
Can I have a biomagnetic treatment instead of acupuncture?
Yes. Many people come for Biomagnetics. The treatment takes the same amount of time, and can be used in place of acupuncture.
How many times do I need to come in for acupuncture treatments?
The treatment course depends on a few variables: what is being treated, how long you’ve had the problem, how strong your constitution is and what kind of treatment is given. I will give you a recommendation for frequency and amount of visits after the first visit. I also recommend people receive maintenance treatments once the initial complaint is resolved to ensure long-term wellness.
Do herbs and supplements have any side effects?
Chinese formulas are balanced so that people usually experience few to no unwanted side effects. Nutritional supplements are whole food based, so have even fewer side effects. Generally both herbs and nutritional supplements are designed to balance the body, so the side effects are good, in other words, other parts of the body may benefit as well. In the rare case you do have a sensitivity to a certain herb, the side effects are small and easily correctable simply by adjusting the formula.
